A half day tour to discover and taste Swiss Wines
Come on a private tour into the spectacular Unesco World Heritage site of the Lavaux vineyards, stretching out over 830 hectares. Learn all about and taste some of our Swiss wines, (one of our best kept secrets!)which were first planted by the Romans in the 2nd century.
If the weather permits, we can take a walk into the vineyards before visiting the Vinorama museum where a short film shows us the typical year of a local wine-maker and explains about our local speciality grape variety: chasselas. A light, lime-blossomed, mineral flavoured variety that we drink as an aperitif wine, with fresh fish from the lake or with local cheese dishes. We only export 1% of our production so you must taste our wines during your stay!
ITINERARY
We will leave Montreux or Vevey either by local train or in a private limousine to reach the heart of the Lavaux vineyards. We can take a walk in the vineyards, (one of the top 12 most beautiful walks in the country!)and visit a local wine village dating back to Roman ages, before visiting the Vinorama museum. Here we will watch a 20 minute film all about the work involved in the vineyards, as well as the production of our delicious Swiss wines. After this we will discover and taste the wines - the best part of the excursion, before returning to your hotel.
